This research defines school success in terms of a standardized test. Small schools, set in their local communities, offer thousands of valuable teachings not covered on those tests. They integrate local wisdom, use local resources, spend money locally, and keep parents engaged more in education. What's more, students need not spend hundred of hours a year on busses, which are often threatening and time wasting. But none of that is on the test! Students feel safer and more engaged in local schools, a fact, but not on the test. see smallschoolscoalition.com
